The leadership question
When an AI agent can call tools, access data or initiate a process, the architecture becomes a delegation of authority. Leaders need to know what the system is permitted to do, who owns the outcome and how activity can be examined.
Three design decisions
Separate the agent’s objective from its permissions. Define the boundary between recommendation and execution. Establish the conditions that require human review or intervention.
Evidence before autonomy
A useful review pack connects the use case to a named owner, tool permissions, data boundaries, a decision trail and an incident process. The depth of assurance should reflect the consequences of error.
